The Song I am Using Over 'Taking the Pill scene'

Editing

So far with my editing I have put all my scenes into place.
I have also experimented with different effects on the 'trip', such as; changing the colour by tinting it but I decided the quality of the camera I used wasn't good enough to cope with that intensity because it was very pixelated. I have sped up the 'walking scene' and then juxposed it with the scene of him spinning and slown that right down to create a sense of Sid losing his mind. The scene where Sid takes the pill I have used twice, once where he actually takes it and then again right at the begining of the 'trip' scene. For that scene I have used 'ghosting' to create a weird vibe and to show the audience how Sid feels inside his head, almost like his head is spinning. I also have used a Disney song (Aristercats - Scales and Arpegios) over that certain part, I then added an echo and put the same song on top of it and set it back a few seconds to create an actuall echo. This reinforces the fact that everything is going on in his head, it becomes quite annoying and it creates a sense of insanity. In way's the way in which I have used this track on the scene is very contrapuntal because you don't associate Disney with drugs as it's a childrens thing, also because a song that might be conventionally used would either be a trance track or something slow and serious depending on the effect you want to have on the audience.

Human Traffic! + 'Ladism'

After watching 'Human Traffic' (1999, Justin Kerrigan) where the theme of 'Ladism' is portrayed through the characteristics of certain characters, the mis-en-scene and the cinematography etc. I have began to realise that the theme is apparent in my film/sequence also. 'Ladism' is a term applied to a male that is against feminism, as exemplified by the values represented in magazines that one would read such as ZOO, FHM and NUTS. A 'Lad' would also be known for his manly characteristics or mannerisms such as walking aggressively, talking aggressively and not caring about another.
Lad culture is commonly associated with Britpop. Males of the certain culture take on a anti-intellectual position, they love alcohol and violence, a very feminist attitude and see women as sex-objects and don't take well to sensitivity. Part of the post-modern transformation of masculinity Ladism is linked with bands such as Oasis, Pulp and Blur.

I am currently in the process of editing my film. I have put all the footage together and have began to experament with different effects on the scenes in which are Sid's trip. I still need to shoot some more scenes in order to make the film better however so far I am getting on well and am proud of what I have done.
I still need to upload my storyboard and animatic but I am focusing on getting my film done before I do this.

Distruption

Currently having a problem uploading my footage onto a editing suite due to a broken memory card reader so I am going to focus on written work and research.
